Introducing Monika Ward.
Shared across Scandinavian cultures is a deeply ingrained cultural concept called “Hygge”, which conveys the qualities of coziness or comfort. Hygge engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being, of enjoying life’s simple pleasures. Being of Norwegian descent, Monika Ward gives this vibe right from the first meeting! Although she grew up in the Seattle area, Monika holds strong ties to her relatives in Norway. Every summer, she either hosts them in the Pacific Northwest or travels to Norway to visit them.
After earning a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Monika bravely dedicated 16 years to raising her kids before rejoining the workforce.

Monika relaunched her professional journey in the construction industry as an Office Manager for a Division 10 specialty contractor. Two years later, she jumped on an exciting Document Control role with a prominent non-residential building construction firm.
Pictured below is one of her sons on his graduation day from boot camp (left) and her daughter at the start of her news reporting career in Seattle (right).
Fast forwarding to 2025, Monika decided to advance her career by joining Dossier as a Document Control Specialist. She currently supports a Sound Transit Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) construction project called the Stride BRT Kenmore/Bothell SR 522 Roadway and Stations. This is one of many important transportation infrastructure endeavors supporting Sound Transit’s extensive public transit system.
“I’M SO HAPPY I LANDED HERE WORKING ON THE BRT! IT FEELS LIKE A GREAT FIT FOR MY PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE. EVEN THOUGH LEARNING CURVES ARE INEVITABLE, I HAVE WONDERFUL RESOURCES AND PEOPLE SURROUNDING ME, MAKING THIS THE PLACE I WANT TO BE.”
Despite a serious passion for organizational work, Monika’s greatest source of pride is rooted in raising her 3 children—and now watching them thrive as adults —forging ahead in their own career pathways. For fun in her next chapter, she aspires to spend time cooking, traveling, carrying on her strong Norwegian traditions, and of course, embracing her inner hygge!
