ROLE: Document Control Specialist and Technical Associate
PROJECT OVERVIEW:
WSDOT established a tolling system to generate revenue for future improvements. They have implemented tolling on the SR 520 Bridge, Tacoma Narrow Bridge, SR 167 HOT Lands, I-405 Express Toll Lanes and the SR 99 Tunnel. A document control system was set up for each of the projects to maintain draft and final records of project deliverables.
SKILLS:
As the Document Control Specialist and Technical Associate, I was engaged by WSDOT to formulate a comprehensive database system on SharePoint and to reconfigure that the State’s computer files were line with their standard document control procedures. My daily project responsibilities were maintaining hard files and archiving them in accordance with WSDOT’s record retention requirements. I was also tasked to assist WSDOT in formulating a standard procedure for document controls that directly applied to the tolling office, capturing and distributing the official meeting minutes for the Road Tolling Systems project, and maintaining their conformed documents against contract change orders.
PROJECT MILESTONES:
I successfully implemented a successful document control system based on discussions with the WSDOT tolling team. This also entailed organizing project files and keeping extensive records for the WSDOT archives.
